CPI UK, a leading pan-European book printing specialist, is actively recovering from a cyber attack that disrupted its IT systems across its eight UK sites.
The attack occurred in the early hours of 7 February, temporarily disabling the company’s network. Divisional Managing Director Tanya Dunbar confirmed the incident, stating that despite having substantial security measures in place, the attackers managed to breach the system.
“After completing initial forensic analysis, we determined that a cyber attack had occurred,” Dunbar said. “As soon as it was identified, we engaged external technical experts alongside our internal teams to accelerate the recovery process.”
Dunbar highlighted the significant progress made in restoring operations, noting that staff across the company have been working diligently to implement workarounds and reinstate IT systems.
“We continue to keep our customers and stakeholders informed and expect to resume full services gradually over the coming days,” she added.
Details regarding how the attackers accessed the network have not been disclosed, and investigations are ongoing. CPI UK remains focused on ensuring a secure and complete recovery while maintaining transparent communication with its clients and partners.
